Presentation

Domaine Clerget covers six hectares concentrated around the winery in Vougeot, in the Côte de Nuits; it's a family estate established four generations ago with vines in Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis, Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée.
Constantly striving for improvement and drawing upon the experience of previous generations, the estate made the choice to become certified in organic viticulture and was certified by Ecocert in 2017.
Since then, numerous projects and tests have been implemented, with the aim of returning to more environmentally-friendly viticulture and cultivating an ever more resilient plant.

Our philosophy

The Côte de Nuits is ideal for the development of Pinot Noir, and it is important to know how to get the best out of the soil and the plant, as naturally as possible. This means allowing the bunches to breathe, gently thinning out the leaves or green harvesting, just enough to maintain the quality of the grapes.

Know-how

The harvest is carried out manually by a small team of seasoned workers.
A first sorting is carried out in the vineyard, followed by a second upon arrival at the winery. The selection of grapes is completed and refined on a vibrating table.
In the vat, the grapes impart all of their richness to the juice: a minimum of three weeks of maceration, with little intervention and no added yeasts.

Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wines are gravity-fed into oak barrels for eighteen months of maturation. On completion of the cycle, the wines are once again racked by gravity and bottled at the estate by our own staff.
